Well, things are better since my last depressing post. Don't really feel like going into details because I'm lazy right now. =P But everything's good.

Well, Ryan's been away this weekend on a business trip so tonight I decided to pamper myself a little. I can't remember the last time I had a relaxing, quiet evening to myself. Once I got home from work today I drew a hot bath complete with bubbles, candles, and bath salts. After that I wrapped up in a comfy bath robe, made the white hot chocolate I got in my stocking this year, and am about to curl up in bed with a book. The first in the series A Song Of Ice And Fire, I haven't read them in years and I'm looking forward to the familiarity of an old friend. I must also add that it is one of the greatest series ever written. If you haven't read them yet, go buy them. Right now.

Anyways....yes. Looking forward to comfort. I've got the curtains open in the bedroom window so I can look at the snow outside and feel even more warm and comfortable, tucked into bed with my book and hot chocolate. I'll actually get a good sleep tonight...I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm excited beyond words. This is the first time in ages I haven't just come home and gone to my computer....well, obviously I'm on it right now because I'm posting this, but I haven't been on it at all today. I don't even feel like staying on it, I just want to go read in bed all night...

So, really exciting news!

I found out that the new girl we hired at work, Simone, does tattooing. She's 3 months away from being professional, and she plans on opening up her own piercing/tattoo place someday. Anyways, I've always had an interest in tattoos, and a lot of people said I should go into it. But I never knew how to get started or anything, or if I'd be any good. I asked her some questions about it and she told me to bring in some samples of my artwork. So today I brought in my sketchbook of doodles and she really liked my style. She said my work was awesome and that she'd love to take me on as her apprentice. =O! I'm just...really excited. I never thought I'd get an opportunity like this. After christmas is over we're going to go out for coffee and talk about it more. She's got all these extra supplies like the tattooing needle and ink and everything, and she'll even give me lessons (hee, we start out by practicing on lemons and oranges xD).

I know my art needs some work, I haven't had time to just sit down and practice for ages. But if I really start practicing I think I can sharpen my skills up to be good enough for tattoos. At least I already have a bit of my own style, I just need to perfect it more.

If I manage to become good at this I might be looking into a future career in tattooing!!! How freaking awesome would that be, it's so perfect! I get to draw and hurt people at the same time. xD She said she could also teach me piercing.

Gah, I'm all happy today because of that. Nothing's ever seemed to work out for me like this before, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ^^

So...this whole winter thing isn't working out for me very well. We have a mutual hatred of each other I believe.

Friday night the busses were all running late thanks to the icy roads, so I was just standing out in -40 degree weather for over a half hour. By the time I got back into town I'd missed the bus that takes me back to the apartment, so I had to walk. Even though I had so many layers on the cold just bit right through them and froze me to the bone. I couldn't move my toes at all by the time I got home, and my legs had actually taken on a blueish hue.

Saturday morning as I leave for work, the stairs outside were coated in so much ice that you couldn't even see it. So naturally as I'm going down them I slip, bang my head on the railing, and fuck my ankle up pretty badly.

Now it's Monday and my ankle's all purple and bruised looking, and it still hurts. I was sure that it would be fine by today but it's not, so I have to miss work again. I think I'm going to try to see a doctor today. Ugh...what a pain in the ass. I'm not missing another day of work because of this stupid thing, I'll hobble in tomorrow if I have to, but I want to make sure it's not broken or anything. =/
